Jumping competition in Kecskemét

The riders of the Akhal Teke stud farm in Ópusztaszer performed very well at the several-day show jumping competition held in Kecskemét.

On the first day, the weather wasn’t kind to the riders; it rained, so the warm-up took place in an indoor arena. Due to the pasture-based keeping, this environment was unfamiliar to our horses. While the first day had to be completed in the rain, by Saturday, the sun shone beautifully.

Réka Cseppentő finished in 2nd place in the 75 cm category with her horse Kartal (a purebred Akhal-Teke, offspring of Kaján x Chiria), completing a faultless round. This was Kartal’s first jumping competition.

Regő Cseppentő, with his young horse named Zetar (Stardust x Zénó), completed a successful course in a rhythmic manner.

Katalin Bönde started at a height of 90 cm, riding Atlasz. On the first day, they managed to achieve a second place finish with a faultless round, thereby acquiring her second qualifying round in the discipline of show jumping (her time difference was 1.45 seconds). On the second day, Kata’s time difference compared to the ideal time was 3.69 seconds, which placed her in fifth position. (The ideal time is a specified time range within which the course must be completed. This doesn’t mean that the rider must complete the course as quickly as possible, but rather that they must aim to be as close to the designated time as possible. In this case, Kata was too fast compared to the ideal time, which was evaluated by the judges as per the event’s regulations.)
