Tulipán is a mare born in 2008, 75% Akhal-Teke. She was bred and raised in our stud farm and has been with our herd since she was a foal. Regularly trimmed and dewormed, with annual blood tests.
Her sire, 4854 Seiran 10, is an Akhal-Teke stallion with excellent mental qualities and a well-balanced temperament, representing the more rounded type within the breed. He demonstrated talent in dressage, show jumping, and endurance riding. Her dam, Vadegér, is a 50% Akhal-Teke mare, a descendant of Mustafa. Her dam’s sire, Mustafa 53, was one of our Akhal-Teke stallions with outstanding mental traits, known for passing on his good temperament to his offspring. He had a stronger bone structure and a larger frame than the average Akhal-Teke, traits that he passed on to his daughter, Vadegér, and granddaughter, Tulipán.
Tulipán’s basic training as a young horse took place in calm and balanced conditions. She has no bad habits (does not buck, rear, or kick) and is a friendly horse. She gets along well with others and can be ridden both in a group and alone. Tulipán has proven her reliability in various environments and situations: she has participated in riding school lessons with 8–10 other horses (is perfectly familiar with arena patterns), canter exercises, and 1–2 hour trail rides outside the riding arena, followed by a one-day riding tour. She has also taken part in a two-hour carriage excursion, which served as good preparation for longer, one-week riding tours.
After about 3–4 years of work in tourism, Tulipán became a regular participant in our early Hungarian (Conquest-period) equestrian shows at the Ópusztaszer National Heritage Park. She performed reliably in all demonstrations, carrying mounted archers, withstanding the use of axes and javelins thrown from her back, among other acts. This experience greatly contributed to her calm and well-balanced temperament over the years. Following three years in these equestrian performances, she returned to tourism work, where she continues to take part in riding camps and trail rides to this day. Her movement is naturally forward and energetic, with medium to large strides thanks to her good shoulder freedom. She is not a sluggish horse, yet she remains excellent for beginner riders. Tulipán has also participated in cattle herding, one of our more challenging programs for horses—many horses tend to be wary of cattle, but she has always performed reliably in this work as well.
Tulipán is a fertile mare who has produced several excellent offspring. Many of her foals remain in our stud, while others have been successfully sold.
Thanks to her calm and balanced temperament, Tulipán is highly recommended for children, beginners, and returning riders. She is a reliable first horse and also an excellent breeding prospect, expected to pass on her desirable qualities to her offspring. Throughout the years, she has never shown a single bad movement or behavior.
