Ajtony’s Description:
Ajtony was born on our stud farm in May 2019. As a foal, he received basic handling training, including hoof trimming, lifting feet, leading, and deworming. After his early handling, his training included exposure to various stimuli and environmental objects to raise his tolerance threshold. His training took place in a calm and controlled setting. He is a well-balanced horse with no bad habits.
After his initial training, he participated in group training sessions (1-2 hours), cross country rides (1-2 hours), and later in full-day riding tours (4-5 hours of riding with a 1-hour lunch break). Once he developed sufficient muscle and mental maturity, he also took part in week-long riding tours ridden by skilled riders.
Approximately a year ago, his training was shifted towards mixed sport skills. A longside mastering basic dressage exercises (pen patterns), he has developed the first three foundations of the training scale in all three gaits: relaxation, rhythm, and connection. He has recently begun learning more advanced dressage elements, such as leg-yielding, haunches-in, and lateral work. While he is being introduced to small jumps, we clearly see his future in dressage due to his conformation and movement abilities. His training is still in progress.
He competed in his first dressage competition on February 28 2025, ridden by Regő Cseppentő, at the Kecskemét Airvent Indoor Arena. He performed excellently in the unfamiliar environment, which included a large screen and spectators, achieving a 62% score. He also endured transportation well.
On June 7, 2025, the CDN-B dressage competition was held in Mórahalom, where Regő Cseppentő and Ajtony competed in two classes: A3 and A4. The dressage warm-up took place in an indoor arena, followed by the competition, which was held outdoors. This change of environment posed no problem for Ajtony, who behaved exemplarily in both settings, even in the presence of several unfamiliar horses.
On June 21st, Cseppentő Regő once again competed in a dressage competition. The event was held in Szentes, where they participated in two categories. Regő and Ajtony achieved first place in both categories (A3 and A5) with beautiful riding. In the A3 category, the pair received a score of 68%, while in the A5 category, they achieved a result of 70%. Due to his abilities and natural talent, we clearly see his future in this discipline.

On July 20, 2025, a CDN-A/B dressage competition was once again held in Szentes. Ajtony, sired by Atamán, competed with rider Regő Cseppentő on this day. The rider participated in two category during the event, with one of their main goals being successful qualification. Despite the intense heat, the conditions did not hinder the pairs’ performance. Ajtony remained attentive to his rider’s aids throughout the day and executed the tasks in a balanced manner. The competition began with the A2, followed by the A3. The A2 program included, among other elements, a simple change of lead through trot, which the pair completed successfully. Regő and Ajtony finished in 2nd place, thereby successfully earning another qualification.
An International and National Dressage Competition, along with a Therapeutic Riding event, was held in Fót on the weekend of September 26, 2025. The Ópusztaszer Akhal Stud was represented by two riders, Regő Cseppentő with Ajtony and Zsófia Apáti with Zetár, both competing in the L7 program, stepping up into a higher category. 🎉 The warm-up took place in an indoor arena, from which riders reached the outdoor competition arena through a short passageway. Despite the windy weather — which made the tents around the arena flap vigorously — both horses stayed focused and calm throughout their performances. This level already included more advanced dressage elements (such as counter-canter and turns on the haunches). The pairs handled this progression remarkably well during their preparation and were able to show their best form in the arena. It was a challenging competition for both riders and horses, as the international field was very strong and the L7 test was a significant step up from previous levels. Nevertheless, both pairs achieved performances above 50%. Everyone evaluated the competition very positively and considered it a great experience overall.
