Riding program in summer, autumn and spring for experienced riders in Ópusztaszer. We provide an opportunity for those who would like to participate in our cattle driving, organised by Akhal Stud of Ópusztaszer.
In the autumn, when the leaves begin to turn yellow, as well as in the spring, when nature awakens in Ópusztaszer, at the memorial place of the Hungarian conquest the Cseppentő family herds 100-120 Hungarian grey cattle, young bulls, cows and heifers from the summer pasture to the winter feeding place or backwards.
On summer occasions, we hold practice herding in the large pasture located at the floodplain of the Tisza. The purpose of this exercice is to ensure that the herd can handle various interventions, e.g. in case of illness or during weaning of calves.
Nowadays these events can connect us with the past. When nomad people was driving and guarding their herd on horses. These moments touched us too, whoes regularly live through this experience. And we came up with the idea that we can share this exciting with the riders who come to visite us.
We want to share this excitement with those who only have admired these events through the screen!
We kindly ask all guest who are interested if they know which is the right time, please write us as soon as possible so we can see the minimum number in time!

PROGRAM
10:00: Start from the central pasture of the Stud.
Riding over to the cattle’s winter feeding spot.
12:00: Short break and lunch. (the lunch will be traditional a dish made from beef for the occasion)
Searching and driving cattle into the winter pasture. Then we ride back to home, and count the wounds . The duration of the program is about 5-6 hours.
In order to participate, it is absolutely necessary to ride in the three gaits with a certain, experienced ride, as well as the rising gaits.

Outfits to be taken: leather shoes suitable for riding, if it’s possible chaps, raincoats, sun protection and riding helmet.
